The resin used in Fluid Earth’s bio-composite is comprised of a minimum of 50% plant derived material, creates 34% less greenhouse gas emissions compared to similar petroleum based resins, and uses 32% less fossil fuels to produce. Fluid Earth hope to be using 100% plant based materials as their technology is developed further. The fins are also 100% recyclable and the manufacturer accepts damaged fins which are reprocessed, saving the additional energy and emissions required to produce virgin material.
